Duties of the Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations

The Vice-Rector for Scientific Affairs and Innovations of the University is one of the important management positions in the organization, development and coordination of scientific activities in a higher educational institution. The holder of this position ensures the implementation of the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, decrees and orders of the President, as well as decisions of the Oliy Majlis and the Cabinet of Ministers in the field of education and personnel training.

One of the main tasks of the Vice-Rector is to organize scientific activities and establish the process of training highly qualified personnel based on state educational standards. He controls and organizes the execution of orders, orders and instructions issued by competent higher organizations, as well as the implementation of decisions of the University's Academic Council and orders of the Rector on issues related to scientific and research processes.

The vice-rector also studies the development trends of the education system of advanced foreign countries and develops mechanisms for implementing the tasks set out in the Law "On Education", the "National Program for Personnel Training" and other regulatory legal acts and ensures their implementation. One of his important tasks is to prepare the necessary proposals on the direction of activity, to improve the processes related to scientific work.

The vice-rector coordinates the work of all structures that provide scientific activity - faculties, departments, deaneries and departments, organizes their effective activities and constantly monitors them. At the same time, he organizes scientific conferences, seminars and other scientific and practical events, leads the activities of the methodological council and organizes work aimed at improving pedagogical skills.

Popularization of the results of scientific work is also one of the important areas of the vice-rector's activity. In particular, he organizes and coordinates the process of preparing and publishing scientific articles, journals and scientific collections. At the same time, he carries out general management of all scientific and educational areas of the university.

Identifying, selecting and supporting talented young people, and involving them in scientific activities are also important tasks of the vice-rector. He manages the process of preparing laureates of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Scholarship and prestigious scholarships such as Navoi, Beruni, Ulugbek, Zulfiya from among students and young researchers.

In addition, the vice-rector develops and implements issues of effective use of classrooms and laboratories, providing them with modern technical equipment. Analyzes annual reports of departments, faculties and departments, evaluates the effectiveness of their activities, and introduces a system for evaluating the scientific activities of professors and teachers based on modern criteria.

The vice-rector pays special attention to developing scientific cooperation with other higher educational institutions, ensuring the active participation of professors and teachers in conferences and seminars, as well as strengthening cooperation with local authorities.

It also determines the annual ranking of the university in the scientific field, analyzes it, and develops measures to further improve its activities. One of its important tasks is to conduct internal certification of the university, prepare it for external certification, and actively participate in these processes.
